OKAY>> after some more research on the tranny front I am left asking this...
What is a Pressure Switch Manifold (PSM) and what does it do??
Using a Scan tool on the tranny computer, I am getting various codes, from trans temp (reading about -8C here in FL) to voltage low (checked have 12V to connector) to input, and output speed sensors VERY varied...changing from 1000 to 6000 without changing anything!! This was all while jacked up running in OD. Still getting shifts, just really HIGH. The Engine compter reads everything about right...from TPS to VSS, but the TPS in the Trans computer, says 52% and does NOT change.....
My question is (of course) what does anyone think of this. It has been my experience from the past, that when you get many codes, and many problems, like this, to change the computer. Does the tranny have a seperate computer?? OR does it come from the main PCM?? I have been out of the car/truck business for about 4-5 years, and BOATS do not have all of these computers!! (LOL)
ALSO, as this post starts with...what does the PSM do??
Any and all info will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks ROB
